4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner will remain in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday’s wild-card series versus Cleveland, leaving Clint Frazier on the bench. Gardner went 3-for-5 with a home run during Game 1, unlikely to lose his spot after such a performance. Despite manager Aaron Boone talking up Frazier as of late, it appears that the current Yankees starting nine is entrenched for the time being. With Cleveland projected to start another righty -- Zach Plesac -- in a possible Game 3, Frazier’s absence may continue into the ALDS should New York advance.--Jesse Borek
