Nelson Cruz Hopes To Return In 2021 After MVP-Like Campaign
4 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz was one of the Majors’ preeminent power threats for the entirety of the 2020 season. Finishing the year with the eighth-highest OPS in the bigs (.992), Cruz said following his club’s elimination from the postseason Wednesday that he hoped to be back next season. The veteran turns 41 next July and is slated to hit free agency this winter. In two years with the Twins, Cruz slashed a staggering .308/.394/.626 across 173 games. It’s unclear whether Minnesota and Cruz will be able to come to terms for a new deal, with fantasy managers likely wanting to check back ahead of next season for updates on his status.
