4 years agoCincinnati Reds president of baseball operations Dick Williams said Friday that he does not expect outfielder Nick Castellanos to exercise the opt-out in his contract, which would allow him to forgo the three years and $48 million remaining on his current deal. Castellanos has a unique deal that offers him the chance to opt out again at the end of next season as well, but with an uncertain financial market awaiting in free agency, and a playoff-caliber offense around him, it sounds as if Castellanos might return to the Reds in 2021. For fantasy managers, that’s terrific news, as Great American Ball Park helped Castellanos deliver a .505 SLG at home. While the .784 overall OPS that he posted was his lowest mark since 2015, the truncated season likely had much to do with his numbers not finding their level.--Jesse Borek
