4 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III (illness) did not travel with the team to New England for their Week 6 matchup against the Patriots. Gordon was sent home from practice on Friday due to an illness which will prevent him from suiting up Sunday. Head coach Vic Fangio has told reporters that the illness is not COVID-19 related. Gordon's absence is a significant loss for Denver, as he is the team leader in carries, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns this year. With Gordon out, look for Phillip Lindsay (toe) to operate as the team's lead back. Lindsay is expected to play for the first time since injuring his toe in Week 1. Third-string RB Royce Freeman could also see some extra work behind Lindsay. Fantasy gamers can treat Lindsay as a low-end RB2 and Freeman as a desperation flex for Week 6.--Matt T - RotoBaller
