Kalen Ballage Leads Chargers Backfield In Week 9
4 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Kalen Ballage put together a nice performance on Sunday versus the Los Vegas Raiders. Ballage was recently promoted from the practice squad and became the lead back after Justin Jackson (knee) was injured on the teams opening drive. The Chargers elected to go with Ballage over rookie Joshua Kelley, who has been struggling of late. Ballage rewarded the Chargers with 69 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 15 yards. The Chargers were also without Austin Ekeler (hamstring) and Troymaine Pope (concussion) in this contest, so there shouldn't be a rush for managers to snag Ballage just yet on the waiver wire. More should be known on Jackson's status before Week 10 and if he misses time, Ballage could hold some value in deeper leagues.
