4 years agoThe San Diego Padres and starter Mike Clevinger (elbow) agreed to a two-year contract extension through 2022 on Monday. The team also announced the right-hander will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the 2021 season. Clevinger registered a 2.84 ERA after joining the Friars midseason, but an elbow impingement limited him to just one inning in the playoffs. A rough setback for both the 29-year-old and the Padres lofty expectations, Clevinger should be ready by 2022. Through five big-league seasons, Clevinger possesses a 3.19 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 10.0 K/9 but has battled a myriad of injuries. Still a hold in dynasty formats, Clevinger will likely be a risk-reward redraft SP2 once he's deemed healthy.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
