Matthew Stafford Demurs When Asked About Lions Future
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will have a new head coach when he takes the field Sunday against Chicago in offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. The team moved on from Matt Patricia following a Thanksgiving loss that dealt a crucial blow to their playoff chances in 2020, leading Stafford to say, "I'll figure that out and talk about that later on" when asked about his future in Detroit. While not the fantasy stalwart that he was for the majority of his career, Stafford still has weekly DFS appeal and low-end season-long QB1 appeal in larger formats. It's difficult to ascertain what Stafford's future value would look like in an organization other than Detroit's, but he is not scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent until 2023. For now, multi-season fantasy managers need not change plans surrounding Stafford.
