Matthew Stafford Plans To Play Sunday Despite Rib Injury
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (ribs) is preparing to take the field Sunday against Tennessee despite injuries to his ribs that many believed would keep him sidelined. Stafford has already played through what has been reported as a serious thumb injury on his throwing hand, so to say that he's at less than 100 percent entering his Week 15 matchup would be an understatement. Without his top target -- Kenny Golladay (hip) -- on the field, Stafford may be facing an uphill battle to be a QB1 during season-long playoffs in anything other than deeper leagues. He'll be a risky DFS play as well due to the injury factor, but for those banking on Marvin Jones Jr., T.J. Hockenson, and potentially Danny Amendola, Stafford taking the field is a best-case scenario for their outlook. The Titans Defense still carries solid appeal, albeit much less than if Chase Daniel had been under center.
