4 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (thigh) has been officially ruled out for Saturday's contest against the Packers, extending his latest absence to five games. McCaffrey being on the sideline in Week 15 doesn't come as a surprise as he continues to battle an injury-riddled season, one which he appears determined to return to. Mike Davis will continue to serve as Carolina's lead back and will reprise considerable fantasy appeal so long as McCaffrey remains out of the mix. The fact that the door was at least open for McCaffrey to return to action coming into the day could be a positive heading into next week versus Washington, although fantasy managers will undoubtedly want to check back in the days ahead to stay abreast of the latest updates.--Jesse Borek
