4 years agoThere is optimism that New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore (leg) is not as injured as it first appeared during Sunday's game versus Miami when he needed to be helped off the field. First believed to have been a knee injury, Gilmore actually sustained a non-contact leg injury which did not allow him to return. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year has been banged up in 2020, and with the Patriots having been eliminated from playoff contention in Week 15, they may opt to be cautious with their franchise cornerback moving forward. Gilmore is set to undergo tests on his leg Monday, so check back for further updates, as his absence would severely damper the Patriots Defense's intrigue over the final two weeks.--Jesse Borek
