Ezekiel Elliott Vows Not To Shut Down For Rest Of 2020
4 years agoDallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott (calf) was ultimately held out of Sunday's win over San Francisco, although his inactive status did not come down until shortly before kickoff. After the game, Elliott explained that he felt a "tug" in his calf, which he felt would have limited his explosiveness. Afterward, he quickly shot down the idea of not returning to the field in 2020, leaving the door open for a return as soon as next week versus Philadelphia. How aggressive Dallas will be in deploying Elliott -- especially if they're eliminated from playoff contention -- also has to factor in the breakout performance that Tony Pollard delivered against the 49ers. Elliott has received double-digit carries in all 13 games that he has appeared this year, so when given the green light, he can be deployed in virtually all season-long formats.
