ANALYSIS: Although at this point you should have already heard of Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed, I won't blame you if that's not the case. Prior to Week 9, Ahmed had not played a single snap in the NFL, and by the end of that weekend, he had logged just 28 snaps and 7 rushing attempts. Fast-forward to W15 and in just three games (W10, W11, and W15 this past Sunday) Ahmed has racked up 50.1 PPR points good for a 16.7 per-game average. Flex on them, Ahmed.
The Dolphins offense has suffered a lot of injuries to both wide receivers and running backs. One of the main beneficiaries: rookie RB Salvon Ahmed. He was handed the ball 21 times in W10 and he turned those attempts into 85 rushing yards and a score (he also caught his lone target for five yards). His usage went down a bit in W11 (12 carries for 43 yards, 5-of-6 receiving for 31 yards), and he got injured after that, missing W12-W14.
Ahmed came back this weekend, and oh boy did he thrived. He finished with his season-best score (21.7 PPR points) and season-highs in carries (23), rushing yards (123), and touchdowns (one). He also caught one-of-three targets for a sweet five extra-yards on the day. No joke, as no other Dolphin had scored 20+ PPR points other than Myles Gaskin (20.1) prior to Ahmed's 21.7 tally.
Miami is still at postseason's reach with the Dolphins facing a cupcake of a defense in Las Vegas next weekend. The Raiders have allowed the 4th-most fantasy points to RBs this season (and are tied for the most rushing touchdowns-against; 17), which bodes well for Ahmed come Championship Sunday.
Forget about considering Ahmed only in deeper leagues: he is a must-add in virtually every league given his role, upside, and matchup. A true potential league-winning play still unrostered in almost two of each three Yahoo leagues.
