4 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (thigh) has been through the injury gamut in 2020, but that hasn't stopped head coach Matt Rhule from eyeing a possible return to practice Wednesday for the All-Pro rusher. Should the Panthers get their lead back on the field for Wednesday, the plan will be to ramp him up in order to suit up Sunday against Washington; if not, Mike Davis and Rodney Smith are expected to handle the reps. McCaffrey has played just once since Week 2 due to myriad issues, but he has accounted for six touchdowns in the three games that he has appeared. Heading into the finals in the vast majority of season-long formats, McCaffrey's practice activity Wednesday will be closely monitored with the door at least open to his return.--Jesse Borek
