Rayshawn Jenkins Faces Uphill Battle To Play In Week 17
4 years agoLos Angeles Chargers safety Rayshawn Jenkins (ankle) has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, putting his availability for Sunday's game versus Kansas City highly in doubt. Jenkins departed the team's contest in Week 16 early, but he has started all 15 games for the Chargers this year, having compiled 84 tackles, four passes defended, two interceptions, one sack, and one quarterback hit. Alohi Gilman would likely take over increased duties without Jenkins in the secondary, further knocking the Chargers Defense down a peg in appeal. When combined with the likely absence of Jenkins -- along with Joey Bosa and Casey Hayward Jr.'s statuses up in the air -- and facing a high-octane Chiefs offense, the shrewd move of nabbing a defense against a team that likely won't play their starters all game may prove to be too much of a risk for most fantasy managers to take.
