Las Vegas Reaffirms Derek Carr As Week 17 Starter
4 years agoDespite having been eliminated from playoff contention, the Las Vegas Raiders have announced Derek Carr as their starting quarterback for Week 17 versus the Broncos. Carr's status was something of a source of speculation due to the groin injury that he sustained in Week 15, where Marcus Mariota looked strong in relief. Carr has missed just two games since joining the league in 2014 and the Raiders' pass-catchers figure to benefit from his presence against Denver. Head coach Jon Gruden did not rule out the possibility of Mariota seeing snaps, making Carr something of a flummoxing DFS option. With 268 passing yards standing between Carr and a third straight year of 4,000-plus passing yards, Las Vegas' signal caller looks to tie a knot around another successful fantasy campaign Sunday.
