James Conner A Low-End RB1 In Wild-Card Game
4 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner did not finish the season on a high note as he rushed for over 37 yards just once in his final six games. He does draw a decent matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday night in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. The Browns run defense ranked just 19th in DVOA but they did allow the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to the running back position during the regular season. There are workload concerns here for Conner, who saw more than 10 carries just twice over his last six games as Pittsburgh shifted to an extremely pass-heavy approach in the second half. Treat Conner as a low-end RB1 in playoff contests for the slate of games this weekend.
