Cam Akers Should See Plenty Of Carries In Wildcard Round
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers saw 21 carries in Week 17 with the Rams starting John Wolford at quarterback. And while Akers didn't get much accomplished with those carries, turning them into just 34 yards, he did add four receptions for 52 yards. Akers has become the clear No. 1 running back on this Rams team, though it's worth noting he was relatively ineffective with his 10 carries the first time these teams met. But if you're looking for volume on Saturday's slate, Akers should get it, even if Jared Goff (thumb) is back. Production might be a different story for Akers, as Seattle has shown improvement against the run as the season has progressed.
