The 21-year-old rookie opened the scoring with his shot from the blue line that beat goaltender Mikko Koskinen midway through the first period. Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber and left wing Artturi Lehkonen each scored a goal in the win, while goaltender Jake Allen made 25 saves in the contest.
