ANALYSIS: Noel has played in all 14 Knicks games this season. That's not a bad start, as we all know the best ability is availability. Rostered in more than one of each three Yahoo leagues, Noel's numbers are going to stay low as long as Julius Randle is healthy and keeps starting games, but none other than the starter (and to some extent Mitchell Robinson) are better positioned than him to be the best off-the pine big in the squad.
Yes, Obi Toppin recently came back from injury, but he profiles more as a wing rather than a true big man, same as Kevin Knox. Noel will keep getting his daily 20+ minutes of playing time, which are the ones he's logged in two of his past three games. Noel has averaged almost 19 MPG this past week going back to Jan. 15th game against Cleveland, and his line in that span (four games) sits at 4-6.
Noel's true value though relies on the stock categories: with 1.3 SPG and 3.5 BPG in his last four games, and season averages of 0.9 and 1.9 respectively, Noel is only one of three players putting up those latter marks since the start of the year along with Anthony Davis and Myles Turner--only Noel is doing so playing 15.6 MPG on the season compared to AD's 32.7 and Turner's 31.6.
