Matthew Stafford Traded To Rams
4 years agoThe Detroit Lions are trading quarterback Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for quarterback Jared Goff, two future first-round picks, and a future third. Los Angeles is clearly betting that Stafford can get the team over the hump and win them a Super Bowl. It's not a bad bet when you factor in that Goff threw for six fewer touchdowns and three more interceptions than Stafford last season and that Stafford will have some solid weapons around him. Stafford's situation is a clear improvement over last year, as he'll have a great offensive mind in Sean McVay coaching him. He's thrown for 30 or more touchdowns just twice in his career, but a third time could be coming. Consider Stafford a high-end QB2 with QB1 upside at this point.
