ANALYSIS: While Vanderbilt enjoyed a late-January stretch in which he started six games in a row, he's been back on the pine for the past five through Friday. Karl-Anthony Towns has no timetable for his potential return, though, which should keep the door at least half-open for Vanderbilt to keep playing his average 21+ minutes off the bench.
Even on limited playing time, Vanderbilt has been rather productive and an above-average per-minute performer. Vanderbilt is putting up 0.97 FP/min on the season but averaging a much better 1.11 FP/min in the past two weeks (eight games played, five as a reserve). You can forget about Jared giving you any sort of three-point production, as he doesn't dare stretch the floor, but the positive about that is that his shooting percentages rare drop below 60% any given day.
Vanderbilt comes with some 10+ points scoring upside, but his mojo is on the boards. He's pulling down 6.3 RPG on the year and 8.1 in the past eight games. His 15.2 REB% ranks 24th among players with 19+ MPG this season, and only Vanderbilt and Zubac have a 15+ percent REB% while playing fewer than 20 minutes. Vanderbilt is also the only player putting up a 6-6-1-1 line while playing the fewest minutes per game at just 19.2 compared to P.J. Washington's 29--the second-lowest MPG-player in that list.
