4 years agoEdmonton Oilers goaltender Mike Smith recorded his 40th career shutout on Thursday with 38 saves in a 3-0 win over Montreal. Jujhar Khaira, Darnell Nurse, and Tyson Barrie took care of the goals, with Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid notching power-play assists on the final tally. Smith has now allowed only one goal through his first two appearances of the season, making 65 total saves. Mikko Koskinen didn't dress for Thursday's encounter after he was in close contact with Jesse Puljujarvi who was added to the NHL's COVID-19 list, and the Finnish netminder has failed to impress this season, so Smith looks set to get more game action in the upcoming weeks.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
