4 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Mike Soroka (Achilles) is making excellent progress in his recovery from Achilles surgery, but it is unclear whether he will be ready for Opening Day. The Canadian right-hander tore his Achilles tendon after just three starts in 2020, derailing the momentum from his phenomenal 2019 campaign. Soroka still needs to pass some fielding tests before he can plan on a return, but he believes his arm is as strong as it normally would be in spring. Assuming there are no setbacks on the recovery path, a clearer timeline for his return should materialize in the coming weeks. With an ADP of 157.8, Soroka may be worthy of the risk, but expect the Braves to handle their young star with an abundance of caution.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
