Fantasy Basketball Buy, Sell, or Hold: Tobias Harris and Khris Middleton

Trading in fantasy basketball can help you improve your team in the short, as well as in the long term. But, even more than that, it's just plain fun. Negotiating with your mate, going back and forth with offers, and hopefully, reaching a mutually beneficial agreement in the end.

It's not always easy to find the right deal that both parties could agree upon, so using the current form to your advantage could be helpful for you to get a deal done, and perhaps even get the most out of it.

Here are our Sell High and Buy Low candidates for Week 9 of the NBA season, right here at RotoBaller.

Are You for Real, Tobias Harris?

Usually, Tobias is one of the most underrated top 50 fantasy players out there. He regularly goes in the 5th or 6th round of drafts and regularly returns 3rd or 4th round value. But at this very moment, he has strung together a few great performances which have him ranked at #5 both in the last seven and 14 days with averages of 23.0 points with 1.0 threes on 54.8% from the field and 96.8% from the line, 9.7 boards, 4.0 dimes, 0.8 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.0 turnovers in 37 minutes per game over his last six. This stat line fits every format as this is a clear across-the-board contribution!

Even though it is pretty clear that Tobias can't keep this up, it's even more backed by the fact that both Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, his 76ers co-stars, missed a game apiece. This surely gave Tobias at least a shot or two more.

Now Tobias is a rotisserie dream, and he really helps out across the board anyways. But just not this much. If you can get a top 30 player back in his stead, it could prove to be a pretty nifty move! Zach LaVine, Zion Williamson or Brandon Ingram would all be guys I would rather bet on due to their upside than Tobias and are all ranked quite a bit lower over the last time period.

Baller Move: Sell high

Time to Panic on Khris Middleton?

Believe it or not, Middleton is barely inside the top 100 over the past 14 days, and outside the top 200 (YES 200!) if we take into account only the previous week. Over the last four games his averages are 16.3 PTS with 1.3 3PM on 43.9 FG% and 66.7 FG%, 5.0 REB, 3.0 AST, 1.0 STL, 0.3 BLK, and 4.8 TO in 37 minutes a game. And all this with Jrue Holiday out.

This has got to have his fantasy GMs frustrated, as they expected for him to feast on the increased opportunity with Jrue out. And if by any chance you can have Jrue for the dime on the dollar, be sure not to miss the opportunity.

He is out due to health and safety protocols, which should have him back pretty soon and not have any long-term impact. Furthermore, Jrue is a great player, both in real life and fantasy, and it would be no surprise if he hits top 30 when he returns.

Therefore, if you have an impatient Jrue manager in your league, an offer of a guy at around top 50 could do the trick and be beneficial as well. Especially if the said manager is desperate for production right away. Players like DeMar DeRozanKelly Oubre Jr. or Robert Covington all have a much higher rank over the last 7 or 14 days, and all have decent value, but I believe Middleton will outperform them all in the long run.

Baller Move: Hold or buy low.
