4 years agoMinnesota Twins starter Jose Berrios isn't thinking about his contract situation as the Twins enter camp ahead of spring training. Berrios said that he and his agents have spoken about his future and hopes to get something done, though there hasn't been any communication with the club yet. The 26-year-old right-hander is slated to make $6.1 million in 2021, with a year of arbitration left before he's eligible for free agency the following year. Berrios posted his highest ERA and walk rate since becoming a full-time starter, though he finished strong with a 2.78 ERA over his last seven starts. He struggled with his fastball in particular, which was an above-average pitch in his first three seasons but was 7.2 runs below average last season per FanGraphs. Berrios is certainly a risky choice at his 82 ADP, though he offers considerable strikeout upside for a pitcher being taken outside the top-30 at his position.--Tim Capurso
