Trevor Story Hasn't Discussed Contract Extension
4 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story has yet to discuss a contract extension with the team as he enters the final year of his deal. "Yeah, it's a contract year, but to me, every year is pretty much that way," Story told reporters on Tuesday. A midseason trade to a contender is a possibility with the two-time All-Star set to become a free agent at the end of the season. The front office claims the team is not rebuilding, but they already traded third baseman Nolan Arenado to the Cardinals earlier this offseason and are projected to finish dead last in the National League West by PECOTA. The team will likely see how the season starts out before fielding any serious offers, but this is a situation to keep an eye on. Story should still be locked in as a first-round pick in fantasy drafts with his combination of power and speed.
