The veteran netminder has gone 4-0-0 with his first starts of the season, recording a 1.83 goals-against average with a .940 save percentage and one shutout. The Oilers have overcome a rough start to the year and have now won nine of their past 11 outings, so Smith is playing on a red-hot team, which puts him in a strong position to continue his winning start to the season.
