ANALYSIS: We're about to reach the midway point of the 2021 season, just mere days away from the All-Star break and the start of the second half. So far this year, rookie Patrick Williams has played 31 games for the Bulls... while starting all 31 of them! Not only is Williams a daily fixture on Chicago's starting lineups, but he's also playing more minutes by the day going from 26 MPG in his first month-plus as a pro, to 33 (!) in February.
Williams, as every rookie except numbered one in history, has obviously gone through growing pains. That being said, though, he's probably on the second-tier of this year's class (behind LaMelo, Haliburton, and Quickley) at this point. Williams is putting up an average 10-5-1 line on the season, one of only three rookies doing so (along with LaMelo Ball and Cole Anthony) which speaks volumes of his game at this early stage in his career.
It might be a little early to call Patrick Williams a set-it-and-forget-it type of player in fantasy leagues, but he's slowly but surely getting there (considering his age and experience). Williams is good on the scoring and rebounding cats and although he doesn't go to the charity stripe often he's shooting 46 percent from the floor on the season and a mighty 54% since Feb. 17 on a healthy 7+ FGA diet.
