4 years agoOakland Athletics outfielders Mark Canha and Ramon Laureano were mentioned by manager Bob Melvin as candidates to lead off this season, according to MLB.com's Martin Gallegos. Marcus Semien has been entrenched as Oakland's leadoff hitter for three straight years and scored 240 runs in that span, tied for 11th in baseball. Semien's replacement, Elvis Andrus is also in the mix to leadoff. Canha boasts a strong 14.1 percent walk rate over the last two seasons and has a strong OBP to show for it. Laureano, on the other hand, stole 13 bases in 2019 and talked about running more this season. Both outfielders would get a boost to their draft value hitting atop a good Oakland lineup.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
