Adam Haseley Homers In First Grapefruit League Game
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Adam Haseley homered in his first at-bat of Spring Training to make the first move in the battle for the job in center field. With most of the Phillies regulars out of the lineup, Haseley batted leadoff and lined an opposite-field home run on the second pitch of the game. The 24-year-old is battling Roman Quinn, Mickey Moniak, and Odubel Herrera for the center field job. Haseley batted .278 last season but did little else posting just a .342 slugging percentage and a .063 ISO in 40 games. Early drafters can disregard Haseley, but the former prospect would have some value in five-outfielder formats if he wins the starting gig.
