Trent Grisham Still Focused On Defense After Gold Glove
4 years agoAfter winning a Gold Glove in 2020, San Diego Padres outfielder Trent Grisham remains motivated to improve defensively. After tying for the lead with six outs above average among outfielders, Grisham continues to nitpick his deficiencies. Offensively, the 24-year-old was a revelation last season, slashing .251/.352/.456 in 252 plate appearances, swiping 10 bases and popping a surprising 10 homers. Heralded for a strong hit tool throughout the minors, Grisham's ascending glovework only secures his position as the Friars everyday center fielder. Grisham's 66 ADP predicts he'll be a lineup fixture, but notably the Padres have been trying various options in center field. If Grisham scuffles offensively and finds himself in a platoon, he's certainly a risk at his current draft value.
