Manny Machado Collects Two Knocks Tuesday
4 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado collected two knocks and a walk Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox, lifting his spring slash to .400/.538/.600 in 13 plate appearances. With substantial buzz around teammate Fernando Tatis Jr., Machado quietly enjoyed a monster 2020 campaign, registering a .950 OPS with 16 homers, 91 runs-plus-RBI and six steals in 254 plate appearances. Since becoming a full-time player in 2013, Machado has played in over 95 percent of games in seven seasons while bombing 30-plus homers five times. A stalwart in a loaded Friars lineup, the 28-year-old is currently drafted as a top-25 fantasy player and second third baseman overall. While there are flashier players surrounding his ADP, Machado's model of consistency makes him a worthwhile premium investment.
