4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Luke Weaver struggled on Tuesday against the Rockies, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk over three innings to earn the loss. Weaver was dinged by the long ball in the loss, allowing three home runs including back-to-back homers to Ryan McMahon and Trevor Story in the third inning. Tuesday was a sharp contrast to his first outing in which he allowed only two hits in two scoreless innings, but Weaver did manage to get his first strikeouts of the spring as he finished the day with four. Weaver struggled last year with a 6.58 ERA and 1.558 WHIP across 52 innings, and outings like Tuesday do nothing to make managers think he will do much better this year. Consider him a low-end streaming option for now until he can string together several strong outings in a row.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
