Rhys Hoskins Feels Healthy After Playing First Base
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins said his surgically repaired elbow is, "All systems go," after playing the field for the first time this spring. Hoskins was one of the hottest hitters in baseball last season before a September elbow injury cost him the last two weeks of the season. Before the injury, Hoskins blasted 10 homers with 26 RBI and 35 runs scored in 41 games while posting a barrel rate in the top-seven percent of all hitters. Hoskins won't hit for a strong average, but he will provide plenty of power and should see ample RBI opportunities batting cleanup for the Phillies. In leagues that value on-base percentage, however, Hoskins is a top-10 first baseman thanks to an elite 15.3 percent walk rate that provides a strong boost to his OBP.
