Spencer Howard Strikes Out Four Tigers
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Spencer Howard allowed two runs in two innings with four strikeouts in a Spring Training start against the Tigers. Howard is the Phillies' top-ranked pitching prospect and is competing for a rotation slot with Vince Velasquez, Matt Moore, and Chase Anderson. Howard struggled in his first taste of the Majors last season posting a 5.92 ERA across six starts, however, he had never pitched above Double-A prior to 2020 and could bounce back now that he got his feet wet in the Big Leagues. Across two levels in 2019, Howard pitched to a 1.78 ERA with 86 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings. Howard is a must-roster player in keeper formats and is a name for redraft managers to monitor as we move through Spring Training.
