Chase Anderson Fires Two Scoreless Innings Versus Detroit
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Chase Anderson pitched two shutout innings with one strikeout in a Spring Training game against the Tigers. Anderson's line looks good, but he was a bit shaky allowing two walks and a hit, but managed to escape unscathed. Anderson is competing with Vince Velasquez, Spencer Howard, and Matt Moore for a rotation job in Philadelphia. The 33-year-old righty likely won't have much fantasy value even if he makes the team out of spring. Last season with Toronto, Anderson pitched to a 7.22 ERA with an equally alarming 6.16 FIP. A career 20.3 percent strikeout-rate means Anderson has an uphill climb to fantasy relevancy even if his ratios improve.
