4 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Michael Taylor (back) was removed from Thursday's starting nine against Milwaukee due to back tightness, manager Mike Matheny confirmed. Taylor has gotten off to a scorching hot start in Cactus League play, having gone 6-for-14 with two home runs and two doubles, driving in four runs. Taylor has the inside track on claiming the starting CF job for the Royals come Opening Day after spending the first seven years of his career with the Nationals. At this stage, there's little indication that the ailment will cause any kind of an extended absence for Taylor, but Jarrod Dyson would figure to step into a larger role should Taylor miss action at any point early on in 2021.--Jesse Borek
