C.J. Cron Continues To Rake This Spring
4 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, one RBI, and a run scored in Thursday's Cactus League game against the Chicago Cubs. The 31-year-old first baseman has been mashing this spring for the Rockies. He's now batting .316/.350/.579 with a home run and a pair of RBI over 19 at-bats in Cactus League play. His 2020 season with the Detroit Tigers was cut short after he underwent surgery to repair a dislocated left knee cap. He hit just .190/.346/.548 over 42 at-bats with the Tigers last season but he did smash four home runs. He looks healthy now and is the favorite to land the starting first base gig in Colorado. There's a lot of power upside with Cron, who will be taking half of his at-bats in the thin air of Coors Field. He's a perfect reserve first baseman to snag in the later rounds in standard mixed leagues.
