BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 50% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It took Daniel Theis a couple of years to get reps as a starter in the NBA, but he finally did so last season when he was part of 64-of-65 starting lineups for the Celtics. That has stayed the same this season, with Theis starting 30-of-35 games so far along with offseason acquisition Tristan Thompson. And while there are voices (mine being one, for example) that are calling for guys like Robert Williams to have a heavier presence on Boston's frontcourt, the truth is that Theis has played relatively well every time he's been relied on.
With a rostership of 50 percent in all Yahoo leagues, I included Theis in this weekend's set of WW posts by a hair, and most probably won't be writing about him going forward if that number goes up even just a couple of percentage points. Theis is playing 25 MPG on the season, but that's a little misleading because he has 10 games through the year in which he logged fewer than 20 minutes and six in which he didn't even reach the 15-minute mark. Removing those outliers, he'd be up at a more realistic 28+ MPG.
In the 29 games Theis has played 20+ minutes, 14 of them since the start of February, Theis is averaging 11-6-1 line with 2 stocks per game to go with. In the games played one week before the AS break, and on Mar. 11's comeback from it, Theis has put up an impressive 16-7-1-1-1 stuffed line, he's shot 60 percent from the floor on 9+ FGA per game, and he's hit at least one triple in three of the four games he's played. While that is a small sample, this is the Theis that Boston needs going forward if they want to be treated as a true contender. It's a coin flip to find Theis in the WW these days, but if you do, no matter the league you play in, go add him.

Fantasy Basketball Deeper-League Waiver Wire Adds for Week 24: Isaac Okoro, Kris Dunn, Josh Richardson, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright
The deeper a fantasy basketball league, the harder it is to hit a winner with your last few picks. It is also harder to find decent help from the waiver wire if your late-round picks don't do you justice. If you picked up a few stinkers, don't lose hope just yet. I will try to […]
Onyeka Okongwu (SF/PF, ATL): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 16% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Hawks are currently the 10th seed in the East but are also tied for 8th and 9th with Brooklyn and Charlotte respectively. There's even a chance (albeit small) that Atlanta could rise as high as to reach the 7th seed if […]
Immanuel Quickley (PG, NYK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 48% of leagues ANALYSIS: If we use common basketball sense, then the New York Knicks and Coach Thibs should try and see what the young guys such as Immanuel Quickley have in them and what they can provide the franchise with ROS, as the NYK are […]
Deni Avdija (SG/SF, WAS): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 37% of leagues ANALYSIS: One would reasonably think that a player seeing a playing-time boost such as that of Deni Avdija's this month would make said player drop his efficiency numbers. Well, not the case for the Wiz Wing by the looks of it. Avdija has […]
Nicolas Claxton (PF/C, BRK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Nets can finally rest assured they'll make the play-in portion of the season. Not quite what you expected when the season got rolling back in October, but at least more than what the Lakers would have accomplished a week from now. […]
