4 years agoCincinnati Reds reliever Amir Garrett (forearm) threw a pain-free bullpen session on Thursday prior to his team's 7-4 Cactus League win over the Chicago White Sox. Garrett has been dealing with a sore left forearm since camp opened, but he sounded optimistic in talking to reporters on Thursday, saying, "You always have … these little nagging pains or injuries or whatever aches. Mine isn't anything serious like that, but it is a relief as a player. It's like 'OK. I'm just a little dinged up, just a little bit. I'm good to go.'" Garrett is in the running to open the season as the team's closer. He has now completed two successful bullpen sessions over the past four days and could be ready to make his Cactus League debut in the coming days. Garrett holds plenty of upside in fantasy if he is able to nail down the ninth-inning role for Cincy.--Matt T - RotoBaller
