Max Kepler Exits Thursday With Thigh Bruise
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Max Kepler (thigh) departed Thursday's Grapefruit League contest versus Boston after he fouled a ball off of his left thigh. Manager Rocco Baldelli indicated that the outfielder figured to have a sizable bruise on the spot, but that there was little long-term concern. Kepler has gotten off to a slow start this spring, going 2-for-14 with one RBI through his first five games. Kepler has embraced the launch angle phenomenon, skyrocketing to a career-best 21.9 average last season, with his number steadily climbing each year since 2015. After socking 36 home runs in 134 games in '19, Kepler could be in line for even more pop should his metrics -- and swing path -- continue to trend upward. The thigh injury does not figure to affect his Draft status at this stage.
