Justin Dunn Throws Three Strong Innings
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Justin Dunn entered Friday's game in the fourth inning, piggybacking his competition for the sixth-starter role with Nick Margevicius. Dunn was the better performer against the Reds, allowing one unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out three. Dunn has yet to allow an earned run across five spring innings. With a fastball velocity now up to 96 mph, it may be that walks are the only thing keeping him from breaking out. After giving free passes to 15.7 percent of batters in 2020, Dunn has focused on gaining better command. If he wins the starter role, Dunn is a fantasy streamer to begin 2021 in deeper leagues.
