Chris Martin Will Make Debut In Next Two Days
4 years agoAtlanta Braves reliever Chris Martin will make his Grapefruit League debut within the next two days, according to manager Brian Snitker. The Braves skipper noted that Martin is healthy and that everything is fine with him. He's just been pitching in simulated games as opposed to live ones. The 34-year-old righty was excellent for the Braves during the shortened 2020 season when he put up a sparkling 1.00 ERA, 0.61 WHIP, and 20:3 K/BB ratio over 18 innings of relief. Snitker has stated in the past that the team could use a committee approach this year, which would put Martin in the mix to earn some saves. Fellow relievers Will Smith and A.J. Minter will be involved as well. All three players are solid late-round reliever options in standard mixed leagues as Atlanta should win a lot of ball games and provide plenty of save opportunities to go around.
