4 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers, who injured his hamstring on Saturday while attempting to steal second base, has a shot to be ready for Opening Day. Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters on Sunday that the "training staff is encouraged" by Rodgers' hamstring. "Some of the things they look for--if he feels it walking, if he feels it in certain movements...he doesn't," Black added. It's still very early as the 24-year-old strained his hamstring just one day ago but the early indications are positive. This is very good news as Opening Day approaches because the injury looked much worse than the diagnosis. The team will continue to provide updates on Rodgers as the regular season inches closer but they sound optimistic that he'll be ready to go, barring any setbacks. This should please fantasy managers that have already rostered Rodgers in hopes that he reaches his potential this season.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
