Matt Moore Allows One Run In Spring Start
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Matt Moore allowed one run in four innings with three strikeouts in a Spring Training start against the Pirates. Moore is competing for a starting rotation spot with Vince Velasquez, Spencer Howard, and Chase Anderson. Philadelphia signed the lefty Moore after posting strong numbers overseas last year. Moore went 6-3 with a 2.65 ERA and 98 strikeouts across 85 innings last season pitching in Japan. Moore is a former All-Star with the Rays back in 2013 but has mostly been a journeyman since. The 31-year-old owns a 4.51 career ERA in stints with four different teams. If he wins a rotation job he could garner some interest in NL-Only leagues, but mixed league managers can disregard Moore on draft day.
