4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios struggled in his third outing of the spring on Tuesday against the Pirates. Berrios pitched four innings, allowing eight hits, four runs, and a walk while striking out just one batter. It is still spring, but the results weren't pretty, as the 26-year-old struggled with location, particularly with the fastball and curveball. Berrios threw his heater just 24 percent of the time in this outing, so he was clearly trying to experiment with off-speed stuff, though the Pirates were ready to capitalize. Berrios will have multiple opportunities to right the ship after this rough outing, as he had looked sharp before Tuesday's contest.--Tim Capurso
