4 years agoToronto Blue Jays young hurler Anthony Castro continues to get a long look in big-league camp and struck out two batters in a shutout frame against the Yankees on Wednesday. The right-hander was nabbed off waivers from the Detroit Tigers in December but was later designated for assignment by the Blue Jays and remained with the organization. The non-roster invitee has now struck out 11 batters while allowing just one run in 5.2 innings. Control has been his nemesis throughout his career but he's walked just one batter this spring and threw 10 of his 13 pitches for strikes on Wednesday. With injuries hitting the Jays' pitching staff, Castro could end up making an impact at the MLB level later this year. His fastball has been up to 96 mph.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
