4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Daulton Jefferies allowed two runs in three innings with six strikeouts in a Spring Training game Wednesday. The runs were the first Jefferies has allowed in nine innings this spring. The 25-year-old has only pitched two MLB innings, but has a strong minor league track record including posting a 27.5 percent strikeout rate in 2019 at Double-A. Jefferies is the A's third-ranked prospect and was expected to open the season in the bullpen. His strong spring and injuries to other pitchers could open the door for Jefferies to join the rotation sooner rather than later. Oakland will obviously manage his innings, but Jefferies is an intriguing stash candidate to target at the end of fantasy drafts.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
