4 years agoNew York Mets closer Edwin Diaz is feeling extremely confident, and looks like it on the mound this spring. Diaz has pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just two baserunners while fanning six batters. The soon-to-be 27-year-old is coming off a strong 2020 season, where he registered six saves while posting the highest strikeout rate of his career. It was a rocky 2019 for Diaz, though he noted that he never lost faith in his stuff, working tirelessly to improve his fastball location and break on his slider, leading to the fruitful results in the shortened season. Diaz could be one of the top closer options in baseball while pitching for an improved Mets team. The upside at his 84 ADP is immense if he can cut down on the walks and continue to limit the long ball.--Tim Capurso
