Tyler Mahle Allows Five Runs In Cactus League Loss
4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle struggled in an 11-6 Cactus League loss to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Mahle allowed five runs over 3 2/3 innings of work while striking out three and walking one. All of Chicago's damage came via the homer as Mahle allowed three long balls, back-to-back shots in the first inning and a three-run blast in the third. Mahle has now made two spring appearances for the Reds, posting a 7.94 ERA over 5 2/3 innings of work. Despite the rough outing on Sunday, the veteran right-hander already has a rotation spot locked up and is setting up as a nice value pick in fantasy drafts.
